Woman weightlifter, Irene Ajambo, will miss the All Africa Games in Algeria because she is pregnant. Speaking on condition of anonymity, an Official of Black Monster Club in Jinja said that the international sporting rules bars the national star from participating in competitive sports while pregnant. Ajambo who won a bronze in Abuja in 2005 and finished 9th in the Commonwealth games in Manchester, also missed the first inter club championships in Ndejje this month. She is also out of the team that will represent Uganda in the Africa Zone 3 championships to be hosted in Kampala on March 28 to April 1st. Uganda Weightlifting Federation secretary, Salim Musoke, says Ajambo has been replaced by Prossy Nyanga, another up coming lifter also from Jinja for the Africa Zone 3.
