Two UPDF officers have been sentenced to death for the murder of a primary school teacher. Private Enos Mumbere and UPDF vigilante Hassan Nziwa who were attached to the 59th Battalion in Bundibugyo were charged, tried and found guilty by the Second Division Court Martial. The court heard that on February 6th this year, the two men attacked Sabbadu Rajabu of Mutunga Parish and shot him dead with a riffle. The soldiers fled with a large amount of money that Sabbadu had withdrawn from his bank on the day of his death. The Court Martial sitting in Bundibugyo ruled that there was sufficient evidence linking the soldiers to Sabbadu's death and sentenced them to the maximum penalty for their crime.
