Four employees of Uganda Human Rights Commission have been arrested in connection with the embezzlement of over 70 million. Commission chairperson Margaret that the commissions accounts are still being audited to determine exact amount of money that was embezzeled. Media reports last week indicated that the commission had been hit by a salary Fraud scam and it had lost between 700 million and 1 billion shillings. It was reported that in this fraud, a junior staff that was earning about 500,000 shillings would connive with a well-placed fraudster to earn 1.5 million shillings. investigations into the matter are still undeway.
