Ugandan Muslims on Saturday, January 03, 2015 joined faithful across the world to celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him). In Kampala, the main celebrations were held at the National Mosque situated in Old Kampala and at Kibuli Mosque.

Ugandan Muslims on Saturday, January 03, 2015 joined faithful across the world to celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him).

In Kampala, the main celebrations were held at the National Mosque situated in Old Kampala and at Kibuli Mosque.

The Old Kampala National Mosque celebrations were led by Ugandan Mufti Sheikh Ramadhan Mubaje of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.

Sheikh Zubair Kayongo, whose faction challenges the leadership of Sheikh Mubaje held their celebrations at the Kibuli Mosque.

Although they belong to separate camps, both Muslim leaders noted with concern the threats to the lives of Muslims and especially Muslim leaders.

Among the prominent Muslim scholars, Sheikh Daktoor Muwaya,  Sheikh Abdu Karim Ssentamu and Sheikh Mustafa Bahiga.
