Uganda National Basketball women's team last evening succumbed to a loss to Kenya in their opening game of the East, Central, and Southern Africa championship played at Lugogo Indoor Stadium. The Kenyans scored 64 points to beat Uganda, which trailed with 58 in all the four quarters. Hilda Luvandwa scored 20 points for the Kenyan team followed by Rose Ouma who scored 14 points for the same team. Flavia Oketch had a good play for the home team scoring 12 points. Only three women's teams are participating in the tournament and the best two teams in the preliminary round will play in the finals set for Saturday December 3 at Lugogo Indoor Stadium. Today, leaders Kenya play Burundi at 5:00 pm.
