But his return to Rwanda grounded traffic on the highway from Kabale town to Katuna. Trucks from Uganda were on Monday stopped in Kabale town and allowed to proceed Tuesday morning.
 
Trucks from Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda heading to Uganda were stopped on the other side of Gatuna in Rwanda.

Anthony Kasolo, the Kabale traffic officer told URN that they were acting on the orders from higher authorities to stop heavy trucks until the president’s convoy had left.

John Kusemererwa, a truck driver heading to Burundi from Mombasa told reporters on Tuesday that the traffic delays disrupted his arrival schedule. He says he will arrive in Burundi on Thursday, as opposed to the Tuesday.

In Kabale town, truck drivers were asked to pay 10.000 shillings as a parking fee.
