Uganda Rugby Cranes will face an acid test when they line-up against the England and Argentina in the group stages of the inaugural Oktoberfest 7s tournament in Germany.
Besides facing England who finished second behind South Africa in the World 7s Series this year and Argentina, Uganda will also battle against hosts Germany in Group B. The tournament will take place September 29-30th in the Olympic Stadium of Munich.

"This tournament will give our team that best exposure against strong opposition," Ramzy Olinga, the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) chief Executive Officer told URN on Friday. He said the team is expected to travel on Tuesday next week.
Head coach Tolbert Onyango also named the final team to be captained by Eric Kasiita and Philip Wokorach as the assistant. The team will use the event to prepare ahead of the World Cup and Commonwealth qualifier event to take place in Kampala next month.

Olinga explained that the International Rugby Body invited Uganda because of their recent good showing in sevens. "Uganda are also the reigning Champions of Africa Sevens Championship and this made it easier for us to land the invitation," added Olinga.

Besides hosts Germany, Uganda and South Africa, other top teams like Australia, England  and New Zealand will also compete during the two-day tournament.
