Wailing covered the corridors of Parliament this afternoon as Members of Parliament gathered to pay their last respects to their Colleague Ibrahim Abiriga who was brutally gunned down on Friday evening together with his brother, Saidi Kongo Buga near his home in Kawanda, Wakiso District.
Most of them clad in the yellow colour of the ruling National Resistence Movement Party, MPs converged in the Parliament Chambers in a special sitting to honour the Arua Municipality MP.
The sitting attended by First Lady Janet Museveni, Vice President Kiwanuka Ssekandi and other government officials was presided over by Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga.
In the emotional sitting, MPs across the political divide heaped praise on their former colleague describing him as loving, humble, truthful and a true patriot of the Nation.
As MPs paid tribute to Abiriga, the body of his brother, Saidi Kongo Buga was waiting at Kololo Airstrip from where the two bodies were to be airlifted to Arua.
