Some Primary school teachers Lira district, have threatened to protest against the non payment of their December salaries. The District Primary Teachers Association Chairman, Henry Oluk, says several teachers missed their December salaries, after their names were erroneously omitted from the payroll. Oluk says the district administration failed to intervene in time for Christmas despite the fact that the matter was brought to their attention. The Lira Municipality deputy Town Clerk, George Atwoko, however blames the teacher's plight, on the Public Service ministry. He says the anomalies on the payroll were caused during the payroll updating exercise by the Ministry. But the public service ministry has released a supplementary payroll, which will be used to pay teachers who missed their salaries. Atwoko says the Municipality Accounts Assistant, has traveled to Kampala to pick the Supplementary payroll.
