Ismail Badogi, the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party, Kigulu North parliament candidate in Iganga district has rejected the February 18th polls results. Badogi contested for the Kigulu North parliamentary seat, and lost to Fred Bwinho Kyakulaga.

 
Jackson Higenyi, the Iganga District, Returning Officer, declared Kyakulaga winner with 17,000 votes. Badogi came second with 15,036 votes. Badogi has rejected the poll results and petitioned Iganga High court. He is particularly concerned that on February 18th, he was in a comfortable lead with 14,000 votes while his rival had 9000 votes when the tally center was closed. 



Badogi however, says that he was shocked when his rival was announced winner when tallying resumed the next day. He accuses Electoral Commission of altering the results in favor of his rival. Badogi also accuses Higenyi of leaving out the results from Nawandala Sub County without any explanation. Higenyi has denied any wrongdoing, saying he announced the true results.
 
 
He advised the aggrieved candidate to petition High court with sufficient evidence to back his claims and let the law take its course. Fred Bwinho Kyakulaga, the Kigulu North MP elect has advised his opponent to accept defeat and join with him to work for the electorate.
