Ugandan League champions KCCA FC are already in Zanzibar ready for the Invitational Mapinduzi Cup which kicks off tomorrow.
 
The Ugandan League Champions KCCA FC will be in action on January 1st against home side KMKM FC, while Simba SC (Tanzania) takes on Kenya’s Cup winners AFC Leopards in the second game of the day.
 
Coach George Nsimbe told URN on phone from Zanzibar that they will make sure they use the tournament to prepare for the second round of the FUFA Super League and the CAF Champions League.

Tony Odur, the leading striker in the FUFA Super League is part of the team after the player returned from failed trials in Vietnam last week. Odur has 10 goals to his credit after the first round of the league.
 
The tournament in Zanzibar will run January 1-13 and top sides like Young Africans and Simba of Tanzania and the defending champions Azam FC will also feature.
 
Nsimbe said although he will miss four of his players who are with the national team ahead of the CHAN event, he expects the available players to perform well.
 
Another Ugandan side URA FC are also in Zanzibar and will have to battle the likes of Chuoni FC, Mbeya City and Cloves (Pemba Combined) in Group A. KCCA FC are in Group B together with KMKM FC, Simba FC and Kenya’s AFC leopards.
 
Tanzanian side, Azam FC is in Group C together with Young Africans, Tusker FC (Kenya) and Spice FC (Unguja Combined).
