Uganda is to receive a substantial donation from the International Handball Federation for the construction of Uganda' first indoor handball stadium, the Uganda Amateur Handball Federation has disclosed. Paul Kayongo, vice president of the Uganda Amateur Handball Federation, says the donation was promised at the recently-concluded International Handball Federation Congress in Madrid, Spain. He says several fruitful meetings between himself, the local federation boss Abbey Mubiru and the international federation staff, yielded pledges of financial and material support to the sport in Uganda. Kayongo says the International Handball Federation also promised to clear all import taxes on the large consignment of handball equipment to be used in the construction of the stadium. The International Handball Federation will also meet all Uganda's expenses if it qualifies to participate in the Africa Zone Five and World Challenge championships. The same offer has been extended to all developing countries in Africa.
