A total of 23 families in Mayuge village, Budhaya sub county Bugiri district have been displaced after their huts were blown down, by a heavy rain on Sunday. The rain accompanied by rainstorm and strong winds, lasted for more than one hour. Issa Bikumbi, the Mayuge village LC one chairman, says the displaced families have taken shelter in the trading center. Many are either living with their relatives or friends. Bikumbi says, the affected family members urgently need food, shelter and clothing's. Margret Mwanamoiza, The Bugiri Resident District Commsioner, says efforts are underway to establish how many people the heavy down pour affected. She urged relevant well wishers to rescue the affected families through donating items like food and clothing.
