Forgery and Corruption could be returning to haunt Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA). The test of Mulindwa's administration came two weeks ago when Horizon FC lost an opportunity to join the super league. FUFA competitions committee secretary, said his office received petitions and would meet soon to arbitrate Latif Khalid, the Manager Horizon FC, presented his evidence against a double licensed player in the names of William Kikonyongo. He says Kikonyongo played for Mbarara united and Kampala Pentecostal Church North, in the same season, despite the fact that he has never been released by his club. FUFA rules stipulate that a soccer player cannot play for two teams in the same season. The contention over Kikonyogo, arose from a petition by Horizon FC stating that Mbarara FC used a double licensed player in contravention of the FUFA rules. The matter was forwarded to the competition s committee of FUFA, by the Western Uganda competitions committee. Kikonyogo claims that he was hired by Mbarara united as a mercenary and has never crossed from KPC FC north. But Mbarara FC quickly jumped in to defend their action. They claimed that Kikonyogo was transferred from KPC North FC and claimed there was a transfer letter to show this. Khalid says that when the case of forgery against Mbarara United was transferred to FUFA by the regional committee, he expected investigations to be complete in two weeks time. But this has not been the case. Khalid says efforts to get justice have been frustrated by the elusive FUFA competitions committee members. //Cue in: As a Manager # Cue out: #we have not got any ruling against.// Khalid says the competitions committee has been disapproved for wanting to use a fake transfer allegedly from Kampala Pentecostal church. KPC however denies the authenticity of that letter. Chris Mubiru, the secretary of Kampala Pentecostal Church North FC, says that the letter presented by Mbarara United was computer generated yet the KPC headed papers have special security features. He also claims that some people have approached him begging to bribe him to backdate the alleged letter. //Cue in: There is a forged transfer letter # Cue out: #that's what they are doing.// Mubiru wants anyone behind the forgery to be brought to book. Moses Magogo, the Secretary Competitions committee, says the committee was hoodwinked into believing that the transfer letter was genuine. Magogo says FUFA is investigating the source of the forged letter.
