FUFA Names Cranes Squad for Africa Championship Match

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has named a twenty five man squad to prepare for the Uganda Cranes match against Tanzania in the Africa Championships in Mwanza next month. The FUFA competitions committee Secretary, Moses Magogo, told a press conference in Kampala today that the Cranes are preparing for the Taifa Stars after eliminating Eritrea by three goals to nil in a recent preliminary round. Magogo says the invited players are expected to enter training camp tomorrow to boost their skills for the first round of the Central and East Africa matches. //Cue in: We are playing Tanzania #i Cue out: i# Agaba Oscar.i// Magogo says the Cranes have learned from their failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament and will not take chances this time round. The Cranes-Taifa Stars match takes place on May 3rd. Uganda's junior team, the Hippos, will meet the Democratic Republic of Congo in the Africa Youth Championships on the same day.
