Police is holding four people in Oyam for arson. The suspects are Tonny Oket Bonny, Oyuku, James Omara and Beatrice Ayuku, all residents of Bar-Nyalo village in Aleka Sub County.

Steven Onencan, Oyam District Police Commander says that the suspects are wanted for setting a blaze the house of Willy Ogwal on fire. Onencan says that the suspects were first arrested on Friday for uprooting citrus and cassava stems of Ogwal but were released on police bond.

He says that the suspects went and set Ogwal’s house a blaze on Saturday. Ogwal says that after they suspects were released from jail they threatened him with death. He alleges that his family has had a long clan dispute with the clan of the suspects.

But Oyuku, one of the suspects denies his involvement in torching Ogwal’s house saying that he was not around on the fateful day. Tonny Oket also denies uprooting the citrus stems and cassava from Ogwal’s garden.
