A UNICEF staff member discusses ways to oneself against Ebola in a conversation with young people living in Beni, DRC last month

In short
The current epidemic, the countrys tenth, is on track to surpass the previous largest outbreak in 1976, which saw 318 cases in total, leading to 280 deaths. There have been 308 cases and 191 deaths since the outbreak began in August. About half of them have been in Beni, a province with a population of around 800,000 people.
