A file containing the bail application for opposition leader and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president, Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye has reportedly gone missing. Besigye's lawyers claim that the Principle Judge, Justice James Ogoola told them in a meeting yesterday afternoon that the he had not received the file from trail judge Edmund Sempa Lugayizi. But the lawyers said they have seen a memo from Lugayizi forwarding the file to Ogoola and an acknowledgement stamp. Justice Ogoola said when contacted by telephone that he will only comment on the matter on today morning. The FDC Secretary General, Alice Alaso condemned the delay in processing Besigye's bail. Besigye's lead counsel, Sam Njuba said his client was in good health in Luzira but he had not eaten any cooked foods since his arrest on Monday. He said Besigye was only taking fluids and some dry foods after he refused to eat food prepared in prison fearing poisoning.
