The tip off date for the East, Central and Southern Africa Basketball Championship that was due at the end of this month in Kampala has been changed. Federation of Uganda Basketball Association vice president Penninah Kabenge has said the start of the tournament has been changed from 28 to 29 November. Visiting teams are expected to arrive in Kampala on November 27. She said preparations are under way to fit in the changes for the tournament to take place at Lugogo Indoor Stadium. Only Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi, together with hosts Uganda, have confirmed their participation for both men's and women's teams. Zimbabwe and Zambia were also expected to turn up for the regional championship. The championship should have taken place mid this year but was postponed because of the financial constraints in the Uganda's basketball governing body.
