Two catholic Priests have perished in a fatal accident at Apala village, Apur parish in Kole district along Lira-Gulu highway this evening.

The dead are identified as Rev. Father Ayelango Jovenal and Rev. Father Ngabirombo Innocent, both attached to Nebbi Catholic diocese. They were heading to Lira town where they were due to attend a consecration ceremony of some Reverend Sisters at Lira diocese tomorrow.

Mohaoud Wamuyale, the Kole district traffic officer says vehicle number UAT 229U Isuzu wizard was trying to overtake when it collided with a Nissan Safari belonging to GPS securiko.

Wamuyale blames the accident on over speeding. The Vehicle had only two occupants who were traveling in the convoy of four vehicles.

The deceased bodies have been taken to Lira referral hospital mortuary.
