The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed that the Cranes will play Mauritania in an international friendly on Thursday in Kampala.
 
Edgar Watson, the FA’s Chief Executive Officer confirmed to Xinhua News that the game will take place at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
 
The Mauritania national team will use the game as a stopover en-route to South Africa where they hope to set camp ahead of the 2014 Africa Nations Championships.
 
In a related development Uganda’s Head Coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has today named his final 23-players who will feature in the 2014 Africa Nations Championships.
 
He said the 23 players he named are the best he could select from the many players who turned up to train in the few days.
 
The Coach said he hopes they will be very competitive in the Group stage against Burkina Faso, Morocco and Zimbabwe as they target to make it to the knock out stage.

Experienced Hassan Wasswa Mawanda who made a return from a failed to move to a Vietnam team also made the team and the Coach said his presence is good because he is a tested player who also captained the team in the CHAN qualifier.
 
Among the players who failed to make the team include; Bidco FC’s goalkeeper Franco Oringa Franco, Simon Namwanja (Proline FC), Ayub Kisalita (SC Villa) and Umar Kasumba (Police FC). Defender Nicholas Wadada was also unlucky not to recover in time to make the squad. The player was involved in an accident on a motorbike that left him with a deep cut.
