The Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) has moved Saturday and Sunday games in the on-going Senior Challenge Cup to Wankulukuku and Lugogo KCCA Stadiums.

Speaking at a press conference this morning at the FUFA house in Mengo, Cecafa Secretary General, Nicholas Musonye said because of the poor playing surface at Namboole Stadium as a result of heavy rains, they though it wise to give the surface breathing space for three days before the quarter finals return there on Tuesday.

The playing surface at Namboole Stadium has been in terrible condition the last two days which has led to some teams losing especially Rwanda whose goalkeeper attempted to kick a ball out of danger against Zanzibar yesterday, only for the ball to stick in the water giving the opponent chance to score in an empty net.

On the low turn up during games, Musonye said he is still shocked by the attitude of Ugandans.  He notes that Ugandans and Kenyans disinterest in matches played in their countries is worrying.

Already two teams Uganda Cranes and Burundi have qualified for the quarter finals of the regional tournament. The winning team will bag US$30,000, while the second and third will take home US$20,000 and US$10,000 respectively.
