More than 360 members of the Arrow Boys militia hoping to become Uganda police officers were by last evening still tranded without food at Soroti Central Police Station. The former militia are waiting to be transported to Masindi police training school. At least one of the militia, Simon Peter Epotu, collapsed but recovered after his friends contributed money and bought him a maize cob. Soroti District Police Commander Anatosi Biiso said he is providing housing, not food. Regional police commander Andrew Sorowen said he hoped to buy a bag of posho for the militia to make porridge. Sorowen said he is coordinating with his colleagues in Kampala to get vehicles to transport the recruits to Masindi.
